He hauled all the material and stone for the construction of the County Court House and he hauled the machinery for ' the first Power House in this locality. He was born March 30, 1875 at Brnholm, Denmark, a son of Jacob and Karen Christensen Funk. He came to Brigham City at the age of 13. He married Elvira Petersen on Oct. 3, 1910 at Brigham City. Mrs. Funk died seven months ago. In addition to his transportation business, Mr. Funk operated a fruit orchard for several years, and worked at the Brigham Municipal Airport for six years. He joined the local volunteer Fire Department in 1898 and served as chief for five years. He was an honorary member of the Fire Department at the time of his death. He was a member of the LDS Church. He was also active in the Danish Brotherhood organization in Brigham City. He is ' survived by a son and a daughter, McLaren Funk, and Mrs. Ceiele (Grace) Neal, both of Brigham City; three grand children; and a brother, Emil star performers .. .
