We had movies, games, bookstand two dances a week for recreation. Porters and waiters attended to our every need,-anthe eventful voyage came to a dose with the traditional captains dinner. Okinawa is a . rugged but beautiful island. The government has spent over 400 million dollars there on economic and military Improvements. It is, as you can imagine, about as modern as the states. Thousands of cars travel its main four-fan- e highway. After staying there nine days I was reassigned to Korea. I had a five day stop-ove- r In Tokyo. ' Visiting the worlds third largest, City was a grand climax to my already extended, vacation. What a thrill to mingle with these extra polite and fascinating people. So here I am in Korea, after traveling over 10,000 miles by water and by air. I wanted to write to say heillo to you folks back home and to gtive you my new address.
