The Utah State Department of Health this week announced its approval of fluoridation of water for dental health. Prior it has been okeyed by most of the dental associations, including the American Dental Association, American Association of Public Health Dentists, the Public Health Service and many more. The state health department reports that it affords consultant services to communities interested in fluoridation of their culinary water through its Division of Dental Health. The division will provide the technical scientific background of knowledge and information in support of fluoridation, and the Division of Sanitary Engineering can advise communities on the technical problems involved in the installation of proper equipment to put it into successful operation. If Brigham City were to adopt the health feature, it could be done at little cost, safely and within the framework of the communitys administrative organization. It could effect a substantial economic saving to families in the community in terms of lower bills for dental services. As we understand, fluorinating water does not effect the taste or color of it as does chlorinating the water. You would never know it was in the water. To improve the dental health, thia process should be considered for adoption here. Over 450 towns in the country now have it and 400 others have approved the process. 1952 Brigham City.
