In the last two games they have been able to get but four runs across the plate against the supposedly weak pitching of the Boston Red Sox. LeRon Johnson, the brains of the 1950 Bees, has already shown signs of a good head. With a line sub on the field and the man he was to replace with his nose in the ground waiting for the next Jordan play to begin, LeRon did the only thing that was possible to do. The quarterback got himself off the field to get the legal amount of men in play and the Beetdig-gers- , trying to hurry the play In order to pick ive easy yards, rushed It a little too much and s were called for an dlost five precious yards. At the time the Beetdiggers were threatening and the head work of John-sneased the threat which was finally stopped. By Boise Gridders off-side- o Lee Boothe should turn in a fine season this year at end. IHe is big and aggressive. Lee is always a good competitor in whatever he is doing. During the baseball season he caught for the American (Legion team and was always hustling and working. It was the same way during the basketball season last year. Lee will be a big help to the Bees this year and there is no doubt about that 'The golf front is fairly quiet. The only club activity left for the season is the annual Red and Slue tournament which will get under way sometime in October. This year it is intended to split all members into two teams, but the difference over last year is the play. Some of the members of the club havent been very active in golf. Last year they had to play their matches of play. This year they don't have to play, but those that do pay if they are on the losing team and get a free meal is they are on the winning team. Those that dont play are invited to the banquet but they pay for their plate of food. The Box Elder Bees were defeated 29 to 13 by the Boise, Idaho eleven last Friday night at Boise. Against Jordan the line looked weak. Trey have the beef that the team last season lacked, but there has to be more than just weight.
