Juno GOLF CLUB OPENING FRIDAY SET Semi-Pro- 29. 1949 FOR Leif Erickson, a veteran of the major leagues and Marlon Wankier, a newcomer in the semi-prowill be tFie starting flingers in the annual tilt this jear. The Nortn and South crews will tangle at American Fork Friday. The two flingers were named to their posts last Monday by Max Wim-mer- , the league secretary. American Fork, which joined the semi-prranks this year, will be hosts to the annual contests. Mandell Wilson of Helper will manage the south nine with Pete Radulovich, Magna skipper, will take over as boss of the North crew. The North team will be composed of players from the folCity, lowing teams: Brigham and Magna. The Bingham, South will find its talent from the teams of American Fork, Provo, and Helper. Johnny Evans, Magna, s All-Sta- Helper Headed Will Feature First Night Program Brigham City Golf and Country club will put the fairways and greens to a test Friday evening at 5:30 for the first time as the course is officially opened. Feature of the opening will be a foursome composed of Dean Candland, Ernie Schneider, and Ernie Schneider, Jr., of Ogden, an a fourth person still to be named. The club house will not be completed in time for the opening by a few days, but the stucco will be finished on the outside and all that will be left to do will be the inside finishing. Dean Candland, club professional will have a full line of golf clubs for sale along with all types of golfing equipment from balls to hats. Also after the opening, golf lessons will be given by appointment. The facilities available at the golf club will include refreshment bar, shower and locker room for women and men, as well as the pro shop. The greens are in excellent condition and ready for play. The fairways, which were torn-uand replanted last fall and this spring are still far from the best of condition, but winter rules will be played where the players can better their position on the fairways, and will not hamper play very much. Those people coming down for the opening are asked not to wear pointed heels so as not to tear up the greens, but everyone is invited to be present.
