Are yon an accessory t before the fact in crimes rated by juveniles? Jesse V. lIooe-- , itr county juvenile .says many of us tire likely to be. Two young boys stumbled you might even say were invited onlo a spree of car stealing, in the past couple of weeks in Brigham City. They stole three cars, at different times. None of the cars were wrecked, and all were recovered. You might say there was (10 damage done except to the boys Ihtmsehes. Is anything more serious? In each instance, it was as easy as pie. There was absolutely nothing to it. Careless automobile owners left their cars parked, unlocked, with the ignition keys in the switches. All the boys had to do was get in and start em up. It isnt a prank. It isnt Its car theft, pure and simple, and a mighty serious thing for young boys to be getting started in. But the juvenile officer believes the fault is as much the car owners as the boys. And not just the three owners whose cars were stolen, but every car owner who leaves his keys in his car when he parks it. Lets watch it. We value our cars, of course. But we value our youngsters more ! pei-jn- r, joy-ridin- g. What We Make Of It Here she comes, ladies and gentlemen, big as life and twice as natural, the greatest show on earth, the thrill of a lifetime, the fine, fat, promise-fille- d year of 1019. It s all yours, and what are you going to put up in such an attractive box, and weighed quite a bit, vou know. Its a harne vou were out so much for parcel I naan, really, a hame. Wouldnt pie t it have been grand if you had kept the present then', and then let the children use it at your house, when we all come out to see you? Youd have loved to see the wav thev took to it, the very first time. li that right? Here in Box Elder, we believe yes, we know ! that we live in the favored spot of all the world. There Is no finer place to live. If we think of this, for one fleeting moment, each day during 1919, surely it will bring a degree of contentment and happiness that will help add up to a good year. Our neighbors, the people living on our street and in our community and in our county, are the finest in the world. We couldnt ask for better neighbors. Oh ves, they have their faults. (We ourselves would feel a bit out of place living among people without faults, wouldnt we?) But we might brighten up a dull day, now and then in 1919, by contemplating the good in our neighbors, by considering how their virtues outweigh their faults. For that matter, our neighbors faults don't require attention from us. AYe could just ignore them, completely, without detracting irom our happiness in 1919. We can enjoy our work more, in 1919, if we approach it with the right altitude. There is dignity to our job, whatever it may be. Its important, to us, to others, to the general scheme of things. Our work each day helps make life better for someone beside ourselves and helps make the town, the state, the nation, even the world what it is. Its a good life.
