BATTERY MEETINGS On Monday and Tuesday evenings of this week meetings were held at the court house in Farmington where the proposition of raising a complete battery for the Utah guard in Davis county, were considered. At the meeting on Monday evening the committee went on record as favoring the organization of a Davis county battery, but the proposition was of such importance that action was deferred until the matter could be acted on by a larger committee. Ac cordingiy a committee consisting of two members from each ward in the county was appointed and the members were notified to meet with the regular committee at the court house " the following evening. At the Tuesday evening meeting on 33 members of the committee were pres ent, every ward in the county being represented with the exception of one. The meeting was called to order by Chairman John G. M. Barnes who ex plained the object of the meeting was the matter of raising a battery of 190 in Davis county, to be known as the Davis county battery and to be officered by Davis county men with Hon. Charles R. Mabey as captain. Most of those present were strongly in favor of Mr. Mabey for captain if the battery was formed but it soon developed that several present were not in favor of sending such a large quota to the front at this time. .Those who fav- In this disease it is important that the cough be kept loose and expectoration easy, which can be done by giving Chamberlain's Cough Remedy.
