A very sad occum nee has been the loss which Mr. and Mrs. William G. Obray have sustained in the death of bfirial within a week of two of their children, Laree; their eight year old daughter, and Alma, their thirteen yqftr old son, an account of whose funeral The Journal recorded yesterday in the Paradise correspondence. The death of the two Obray children marks four fatalities from pneumonia out of five cases recently reported to be prevalent. The Obray s have had borne out to them the truth of the statements that oftentimes sorrows do not come singly. The fifth pneumonia case, that of Lydia Howell, has pot proved fatal. The child is reported to be on the road to recovery which brings cheer, indeed, to the parents of the little girl and to the familys many frierjds. The losses which Mr. and Mrs. Obary have sustained are most severe, and kind friends will and should hasten to lighten their sorrow whenever words of comfort, sympathy, consolation, love, deeds of mercy and neighborly helpfulness may be extended. Many kind friends and neighbors in Paradise community have no doubt been most helpful and kind to the stricken families into whose circle the pneumonia disease has spread. Everything should be done to stay the malady from exacting a further Toll, if it is possible to take measures that will be fruitful in warding off the disease.- The Journal sincerely regrets the fatalities which Ihe pneumonia epidemic has caused in Paradise thus far, and sincerely hopes that measures may be taken speedily, if they have not already been undertaken, to ward off the disease and restore all of the citizens of this worthy community to good health and prosperity. - What Congress I - Is Doing ! Peggy seated herself at her uncles desk in the living room. She must reply to her fathers frantic cable and calm his fears for her. Now, if youll lead the way. Carter can work while theres still daylight. Its very curious that the electrician who wired this house neglected to put a light outlet here, commented Peggy, a3 they groped about the cellar while Obadiah lighted the candles left there on Saturday night.
