Show ' K THE JOURNAL, LOGAN. UTAH. JUNE 11, 1838. TRX-WEEK- The Beeso Funeral., The funeral of Mrs, W. G. Reese, was of the largest seen in Logan for a long time, people coming from all parts of the county to at attend it. It was a large congregation of friends and mourners which assembled in the tabernacle to testify to their respect for the dead and their sympathy for the living. The services were conducted under the direction of the Benson bishopric, but the Logan choir was in attendance, and at the opening, and following prayer by President Isaac Smith, sang suitable selections. Brother Moses Thatcher was the first and principal speaker, the request that he speak upon this sad occasion having been made by He the deceased lady herself her virtues, spoke many eulogized words of comfort to the bereaved family, and breathed forth inspired utterances regarding the joys of the resurrection. President Orson Smith was the second and last speaker. During Mrs. Reeces residence in Logan he became acquainted with her, and he bore testimony to her worth. The choir then sang in touching manner the hymn 0 My Father, after which the benediction was offered by BishoD W. II. Maughan of Wellsville. During the morning hours a ho-i- t of friends availed themselves of the opportunity of gazing for the last time this side of the grave, upon the face and form of the one they loved. The funeral cortege was an unusually lengthy one. Hurrah for the Fourth! The committee appointed to arrange for the demonstration on the Fourth, met on Wednesday evening and discussed various plans of preparation, which finally resulted in the appointment of the following committees, which reported at a meeting held last even- p Buy Alum ! at druggist's, and bakin powder at grocers.
