Franklin and Montpelier, becomes our sorrowful duty to record the death of ooe of our esteemed citizens, Mary E. Miles Tams, beloved wife of Elias Tams, who departed this life May 22nd, 1898. . Deceased was born at Paradise, Utah, June 1$, 1870, making her almost twenty-eigyears old. She was the mother of six children the oldest being nine years and the youngest a baby six weeks old. The deceased was stricken down with pneumonia ten days previous to her death. This is one of the cases in which fate seems to be extremely cruel. A young woman cut down in the bloom of wifehood and motherhood, and leaving a husband with 6ix little children. Respect for the , departed was shown by relatives and friend?, by the way they turned out to the funeral. The coffin was covered with beautiful flowers, and thirty-eigh- t vehicles followed the remains to the grave. At the meeting the choir sang sweetly, and eloquent remarks were made by Elders James John Welch, and Bishop Samuel Oldham. The dedicatory prayer was offered at the grave by R. 1. Elder John L. Price. Paradise, May 26 1898. ht ny New Jersey Exercises. The stage was beautifully decorated and tastefully arranged. There were three persons in the 'graduating clas. Geneva A. Taylor, Nellie M. Hanks, and John H. JSdwards. Mr. E Iwards, who was one of Logans volunteers, and is now in San Francisco with his regiment, was remembered, however, and a large arm-chadraped with Old Glory and the flag of Cuba Libre, occupied a conspicuous place on the stage, as a token of the affectionate esteem and regard in which he was held by teachers and class- Obituary.'
