The State Department of Health now requires that children entering kindergarten be immunized for Hepatitis A and Varicella (chicken pox). The Hepatitis A vaccination is a two part series given six months apart. As parents prepare children for kindergarten they need to remember that the series should be started now. After the age of four, children may receive kindergarten boosters. Adolescents also may need a tetanus booster and could begin the Hepatitis A and B series, too. V 370 S. 500 w.
