Earlier that day, he will provide a free master class for talented local piano students. Pescia added the prestigious 2003 Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition gold medal to his impressive list of accomplishments earlier this year. It is a rare opportunity for local audiences to attend the quality of concert that he will be presenting. Mr. Pescia, a native of Lausanne, Switzerland, has significant credentials apart from his winning the highly prized Bachauer gold from among a field of 520 excellent pianists from around the world. He has studied at Lausanne's Conservatory of Music and the Geneva Conservatory. In Geneva, he won the 1997 first prize in virtuosity with distinction. He then continued to the Universitat der Kunste in Berlin, Germany, where he received his diploma with the highest score. The young pianist has had master classes with Leon Fleisher, Lieder (art song) interpretation courses and with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskachamber music courses with the Alban Berg Quartet. These and other demanding artists have contributed to the development of his talents since beginning his studies at the age of seven. Cedric has appeared with such noteworthy groups as the Berlin Philharmonic and the Orchestra de la Suisse Romande. He has performed at numerous festivals, including the Grand Teton festival.
