B1 Sportsmen interested in providing their opinions are encouraged to attend the Northeastern Region Advisory Council (RAC) meeting scheduled for March 17. The meeting will convene at 7 p.m. at the Vernal City Offices located at 447 E. Main Street in Vernal. DWR and RAC representatives will take ideas from the public for Utahs 2004 and 2005 big game seasons. In addition to the public input, the DWR will present proposed big game permit numbers for Utahs 2003 hunts. These will include permits for general buck deer, general bull elk, limited entry hunts. and Proposed changes to some of Utahs big game management plans will also be addressed. Its very important that people who are interested in big game hunting attend these meetings and share their ideas with us, said Jim Karpowitz, DWR big game coordinator. Karpowitz explained that DWR biologists will be drafting specific recommendations over the next few months to present to the public and the Utah Wildlife Board this fall. Public opinion on the issues is being requested to help flesh out the recommendations.
