Countryside Veterinary Clinic and Ashley Valley Animal Hospital in Vemal, Uinta Veterinary Services in Ballard and Basin Veterinary Clinic in Roosevelt will take pail in the drive to spay or neuter as many dogs and cats as possible. The motto is, Get em fixed by month six for healthier, happier pets! The discounted prices for the surgeries are: 1 Cat neuters, $15; Cat spays $25; Dog neuters $30; Dog spays $40; Family plan for dogs (mom and litter under six months) is $125; Family plan for cats (mom and litter under six months) is $85; There is a $10 charge for pregnancies or dogs 'over 80 pounds. There may be additional fees for animals with special conditions. Animals must be between eight weeks and six years of age to be eligible. Vaccinations will be offered for spay and neuter clients only. It is important not to feed the animal after 9 pm. the night before surgery if the pet is over four months or after 6 a m. if the pet is Temperatures FFA under four months. Bruce Daniel won first place in extemporaneous speaking while April Gerber took second place. The winners will represent Uintah FFA at the area contest in February. The prepared public speaking contest required members to write and give a six to eight minute prepared (memorized) speech and to answer five minutes worth of questions at the end. In the extempora neous competition, FFA members were given three topics from which they had to choose one and prepare a four to six minute speech in 30 minutes. They also had to answer five minutes of questions at the end of the speech. In the creed contest members recited the FFA creed and answered five minutes of questions at the end. Public speaking contests compose three of FFAs many career development events. , These events are designed to teach the members valuable leadership skills, technical knowledge, technical skills and to promote opportunities for scholarships and awards.
