In m exasperated mood, I fear I quite lost my temper and had a book posed in mid-ai- r ready to strike the next offender, when I heard a familiar sound. A sound that seemed to bring back my stampede days. Immediately I returned the book to its rightful position and hurried toward the sound that had so recently saved some seventh d from a grade students crack. I found itl And who would its originator be but Leila Johnson. Why of course How could I have ever forgotten that lough? Mr. Banks had evidently told one of his jokes because she and Befniece Olsen were tickled to the core about something. A few days later I recognized a perfect figure in the halls. It didnt take me long to place Margaret Nuttall, the former belle .of the school, and Anna Dixon, as cute as ever. There is one tiling however that has puzzled me ever since. Was it Dear Old Lincoln that called Margaret or could it be one of our blonde foot ball heroes that was the great attraction? I happened to catch a glimpse of Margaret Taylor that day too. She .looked as natural as ever dashing around. Always in a hurry to get somewhere to wait. Her going to the "Y and Reed Holdaway to the U" has added a wrinkle to her fair brow too. Walked into school behind Fay Williams and Beth Jorgensen the other day, and for the first time in my life saw those kids wralk right into the office on their own account. I figured they were just trying to haunt Mr. Banks, however, and let the matter djop. I didnt ever think college would put the high hat on Verl Allaman, and and Lawrence Muhlstein, Sterling Cooper, but that was where I was wrong. Well well soon have the laugh on them, cause three weeks of English from Miss Black and they will welcome a good old Scotch blessing from Mr. Banks once more. And here, folksies, is where the capping climax and the dirt comes in. Artlmi Watkins and James Blair come back to Lincoln too the other day. During a poisonal interview with the Hon. Vocational Guidance This year the Lincoln High School vocational guidance in its course of instruction. The people have felt for some time that the school has failed in helping its students to choose their lifes work. Too many valuable 3 ears have been lost by our young people while aimlessly "shopping around" for a suitable vocation from a standpoint of interest, ability, and means. So starting soon vocational guidance will be offered to the students. One hour each day for a week will be devoted to practical discussions on the various vocations. Each vocation will be analyzed, pointing out the advantages, disadvantages, qualifications, training, time and expense required, chances for advancement, what the student has to put into it,and what he can expect from it. After this week of instruction upon what is awaiting the student in the vocational field, every Senior will be personally interviewed by the Principal in an effort to help choose the vocation for which the student is qualified. In addition to this, personal rating cards will be passed out to the students. These cards if truthfully filled out will give the advisor an insight into the student's character and show where his interests lie what he likes tc- do best, and just how much time and financial means he will have to use in pursuit of his vocation. The. aim of this course is to help the student choose his vocation early in life. Select a goal. Have something definite to work towards For if he knows what he wants and where hes going, the road to success will be shortened. is offering - LINCOLN CAFETERIA OPENS The Lincoln High School Cafeteria began October 28th.
