Taylor Lake View Civic Reporter Melvin Miner Feature Writer RESPONSIBILITY By Raymond Partridge Every responsibility in life has besides the main trend and responsibility a number of related things belonging to it. These related things are so important that one cannot succeed without them. And so one who is asked to teach a class in one of our organization takes on the related activities of preparation meetings, council meetings and Stake Union MeetingsHe must work in harmony w ith others on committees or on individual projects to advance the work of the whole. So many of us have the mistaken idea that these related activities are not important, that our work is individual, does not concern or depend on others. Where people live together it is necessary that they not only shoulder their own responsibility but they must have a spirit of cooperation and a loyalty for the whole system in which dhey work. The usual excuse for not going to Union Meeting is I dont get anything, They are judging the value only by what is handed out. Of course they dont give anything either and to give is a way of receiving more abundantly, which they overlook. However it seems to me that a leader is better off with the helper who openly refuses to do a part of his work than he is with the one who accepts it alhand then neglects the work! who offers excuses instead of service; who mises his appointments or lets other things interefere with his work, A reason for missing an appointment should always be given to those who are depending on you, but ahvays as soon as possible before the event occursAn excuse after is a confession that you failed and that you didn't think enough of the work to permit of getting a substitute, Christ says No man having put his hand to the plough dnd looking back is fit for the Kingdom of God. Interpret this to suit yourself, but( to me it means that no man who forms the habit of assuming responsibilities in the work of the Lord and then carelessly, while the responsibilities are still his, neglests the work he has promised to do, is fit1 for the Kingdom of - God Jehova By ANNIE S. JOLLEY (of the Stake Genealogical Committee) In the temples of Jehova, There are true and loyal bands, Christ in charity and meekness, Went to that great spirit home. Taught the gospel in its fulness. Taught redemption for the soul. Taught them of Elijahs mission, Filled with power from on high, Turning children to the fathers, As foretold by Malachi. Clothed in the fulness of the priesthood As restored by Elijahs hand. They are saviours of our kindred, Kindred who have gone before, Gone before Christs great atonement, After- - death did life restore. Thin Here in life in this blessed day. When' again the holy priesthood, In life's mission points the way. Points unto the holv temple,.' hilled with powers from the head. Here well do the father's bidding, Save our selves and save our dead. thr world was groped in dark ness, Satans power had mighty grown, Prophets, priesthood both had vanished, Nations bo.ved before his throne. Nations rose and kingdoms perished, Millions from this life had passed. Knowing not Gods plan to save them, Knowing not Christs sacrifice - ME Then let's rally to the temple, Prove ourselves as saviours true, Jive to them the sacred blessings They have yearned for us to do. Though theyre gone well not forget them, But weU love them more and more. Soon well join with them in glory, On that bright eternal shore.
