We want to assure the whole community of East Carbon of its welcome at any and all of the meetings of, this vitally interesting convention. stated the pastor, Rev. Norman C. Nelsoi). Morning services are being held daily at 10:00 for those who cannot take advantage of the daily evening services at 7:30. Three Missionaries representing fields three of the 22 world-wid- e e of missionaries 820 and Allithe Christian and Missionary ance are the speakers for this conventions. They will display costumes and curior from the fields in which they labor and colored films of the land, the people, and the work. Rev. F. A. Smith has served in x Columbia, South America, since 1939,jpprking chiefly among the Paefrknd Guambiano Indians of the central range of the Andes. Many congregation have been established and the church is now organized and .actively witnessing. During recent persecution of Evangelical Christians, some Indian Chapels and homes have been burned, believers have fled to the hills, and some have been martyred for their faith. In certain districts, where public services are prohibited for Evangelicals, believers meet secretly for worship hidusing Bible and hymn-booden in caves to escape confiscation and burning. However, Rev. Smith will bring us a recent announcement constituting the most exciting evelopement in 10 or more years. Mrs. Elizabeth Jackson, whose husband also a missionary was killed when the Japanese invaded Borneo, has continued her missionary service in Indonesia. She has taught at Benteng Tinggi, Celebes, and, more recently in the East Borneo Bible school. There she taught Dyak young people evangelistic work. Some of he students are now teaching among their own people in distant jungle villages. Mrs. Jackson was also to make occasional trips to Dyak villages for special minisfull-tim- ks pre-paringj- tries. - or Marriage Vows For Marilyn Fulton and Kendall I. Nelson Impressive nuptial rites performed September 21 at the Trinity Episcopal church at Dragerton united in marriage Miss Marilyn Fulton and Kendall I. Nelson. The Reverend Stuart Fitch officiated at the ceremony which was followed immediately by a reception given by the Brides parents, Mf. and Mrs. James Fulton of Kenilworth. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Nelson, Dragerton, are the parents of the benedict. The bride was radiantly lovely in ballerina-lengt- h gown of tulle with underscoring of satin. The molded bodice was - styled with long sleeves and a Peter Pan col-enhancing the high neckline. The full gathered skirt featured a cascade of tulle ruffles down the back.
