She started tQ the public schools here when inly four years old and graduated from the nearby Buffalo High school in 1918 at the age of 16. Her first experience along the nursing line came when she was a young girl of 14 and started with her helping the doctors around her home on all of their calls. This prompted her to enter the nursing school in the Baptist Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri shortly after her graduation from high school. She remained here and studied for two years but was then called back to help on the family farm because of the death of her father. t In 1922 'Bessie married Novie L. Roberts whom she had known all of her life. Two years later they to Bristow, Oklahoma moved where Novie started working in the oil fields. Bessie again took advantage of her nurses training by helping the Bristow doctors. Later they moved to another oil boom town, Seminole, Oklahoma where Bessie opened a cafe. While living here they watched this town grow from just a few dingy shacks to a modem and beautiful city. 4-- -- secretary-treasure- By The registration for the Carbon Senior High School will be held on Sept. 5 but (tudenti of the College will not register until Monday, September 8 Instead of the 4th as it was previously announced,. - .1. of 1943 was Mr. and Mrs. Novie Roberts.
