However, he added that more Ruth Smith Christmas Concert will be performed by the South Rich High School Band and Choir, Wednesday, December 21, at ther South Rich Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be under the direction of Michael Layne Williamson, South Rich music teacher. Some Christmas Carols, as well as some popular music will be performed. Everyone is invited to attend the concert. Williamson said that he has enjoyed working with the students at rSouth Rich this year. Williamson also teaches fourth sixth grades. The fourth through graders have general music, the fifth graders play recorders and sisth graders play the ukulele. He and Mr. Ward, one of the second grade teachers, are working on implementing a music program for the kindergarten through third grades. Malcolm of Garden City sponsored a welding workshop at the South Rich High School industrial arts shop. Century Welders, for which D.K. Malcolm is an authorized dealer, were a feature of the program. Many welding techniques were demonstrated by Jim Buck, the instructing representative form Century Weld ers. All attending were encouraged to practice the techniques being demonstrated while Mr. buck supervised, using the Century welding equipment. turnout was not as good as had been hoped, and a similar workshop may be offered in the near future.
