And one of the major reasons for the Buffs improvements into the upper echelon of Region Six action, has been the consistent improvement of Tina Henderson. As one of the major scorers for the improving Buffs, the THS junior is only getting better every time out Henderson has yet to lose in the discus this season and has even outdistanced her opponents by 40 feet. Against South, the $ in the junior tossed a 102-10)- discus as Souths Holly Stagg managed a second place heave of only 1 feet. In the 116-1- 4 whipping of West, Henderson captured third place points in the shot put and javelin along with the first in the discus. Last season she took third at region and qualified for state. And it looks like shes headed to a better season, so far, this year. It was only last year that she started throwing the discus and with little coaching. Already she has thrown past her personal best of 94 feet in the South match 66-1- (102-10)4- and should easily ) Tina Henderson qualify for state with the needed 96 feet Tooele cinder coach Dennis Workman is amazed at the juniors rapid success. "I guess its just her natural ability that makes her so good at throwing the discus, Workman stated. "She only started last year. She just takes to it naturally. She is a great all around competitor and a hard worker." For her consistent improvement and scoring this season, Tina Henderson is this weeks "Prep of the Week". Cahoon teamed up with Terry Hancock, Doug Belnap and Darin Sagers to win the event as Tooele defeated the Bulldogs 99-4- 2 at East High School.
