Show Winners Announced In Best Ball Tournament Lady golfers from Timpanogos, Valley View, and Glendale dominated gross scoring action in the State Ladies Best Ball tournament held yesterday, while local golfers captured most of the top places in the net scoring system. In the first flight, gross, it was Terry and Mary Norman posting the low score of 76, closely fol- lowed by Tooeles y had the low score of 63, with the teams of Clair Bergman-Barbar- a Tri-Cit- Hansen, Glenmoor and Dottie Dempsey-JanAnderson of Rose Park tieing for second with e scores of 65. Second Flight Results: In the gross scoring it was Lewis of Tammy honors View top taking Valley with a score of 76. Doris Haws of Valley View were second with an 82, and the teams of Patricia Gourdin-MyrnHolmstead of Mt. Tooele Men In the Oquirrh Hills mens low gross and low net competition, Bob Madsen finished first in the gross scoring with a score of 35, with Dave Garcia and Paul Griffiths tieing for second with a score of 37. Gary Slater was third with a 38. Net winner was Dave Walters with a score of 31, Mack Outzen, 32, Henry Padilla 33, and Kevin Butler, 34. Ed Lane came up with a rarity, Tuesday, when he posted a double eagle on the number three hole. 01 number three is 477 yards from tee to hole, and Lane, after his drive used a number seven wood to hole out in two strokes on the par five hole. Beginning at 1:00 p.m. will be the finals for all of the remaining running events which include the high hurdles, the 100 meter dash, the 1600 meter run, the 400 meter relay, the 400 meter dash, the intermediate hurdles, the 800 meter run, the medley relay, the 200 meter dash and the mile relay.
