When children turn 12 and enter junior high they no longer require lunches? We were told that if lunches are served to the high school students on half days they would sluff more. How can our children be delinquents when they are home with us being fed and taken cere td? We kept our children home because w feel this Is the only recourse w have to voice our concerns. If more parents would keep their children home before th Christmas break the impact would be felt to a greater degree. May be then the school board and the superintendent would rethink their policy and reinstate school lunches ewry day cd the school year. We heard of other parents who called their children in sick before Thanksgiving even though they were concerned about the lunch program. This type of protest does no good. The school must be told why the children are being kept home. We are asking all concerned par- ents to keep their children home before the Christmas break to help with the protest Marge Goilaher Bonnie Wry land Community Support Editor During the past football season, it has been my good fortune to be associated with the Mity Mites football team which won the championship and I would like to thank And Anally I would like to thank these young men for their dedication and hard work and for being the outstanding young men that they are. I would also like to thank the parents and citizens of Tooele for their support throughout the year. On the day of the championship game at the University of Utahs Rice Stadium there were over 300 supporters cheering the players on and they easily outnumbered the oppositions side. the county commissioners and merchants for their donations which made it possible to rent the Rice held and allow the boys to practice on the artificial surface. These are just additional items that prove Tooele is a great place to live.
