It esn be said that they were Just doing their Jobs. ON THE OTHER HAND It 1 doubtful that Just anyone without considerable experience would have noticed anything out of the ordinary In two men having what looked like car trouble near a used car lot or two cars leaving town early In the morning. The recent arrest of a Tooele Juvenile because he was noticed spending considerable money around town led to the eolation of a number of case of stealing of money from Tooele businesses, and was also the result of an officer's alert nets. Officers Huey Crave and Kenneth Daly are to be con gratulated on their alertness but not without recognizing the contribution other Tooele City, County end State police officers make each day that never is appreciated. THE DAY TO DAY contribution of the good police officer includes a good many quiet efforts that prevent and keep down crime. It had been over fifty years since she had been In Australia, and the enjoyed seeing two aunts and an uncle once more end meeting many cousins. An especially enjoyable experience was that of getting together with four young men from Tooele who were serving In the Australian Mission. They were Elder Richard Young, who has since returned home, and Elder Ned Fox. Elder Brent Roy Bryan, and Elder Gary Syddall. Before leaving Australia, Mrs. England also visited friends In Sidney and saw points of interest there. PATIO DINNER PARTY Mr. and Mrs. Carl Smith, of 21st Tooele, celebrated their wedding anniversary July 21 with a patio dinner party. Special guests were Mr. and Mrs. Chris Weyland. Smith, Jr., entertained at a family dinner for the visitors. Back from a three weeks vacation are Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Bullard and daughter Susie. Leaving July 5, they went first to Yellowstone, and thence to Spirit Lake, Idaho, where they visited relatives. Their next stop was Tacoma, where they visited relatives and friends. In St. Helens, Oregon, they visited friends with whom they went to Long Beach, Washington. There they spent three days and nights, enjoying the beach and digging clams, for which conditions were just right. After visiting relatives in Grants Pass, Oregon, they drove down by way of Reno to Ely, Nevada, where they visited Lehman Caves. They returned home last Friday. Mr. and Mrs. John Burger and children, David, Wendy, Sheila, and Harold, arrived July 20 from Beloit, Wisconsin, to visit Mr. Burgers parents, Mr. and Mrs. N. F. Burger. This past week they have been traveling through eastern Utah and Colorado, accompanied by Mrs. N. F. Burger and Mr. and Mrs. John Lawless and sons, Mark and Greg. CAPT. AND MRS. DALE LEATHAM and children, Stacey, Wade, and Carrie, left Wednesday morning from San Francisco on a jet flight which carried them over the North Pole to Tokyo in nine hours. They had spent the month of July in Tooele, visiting with Capt. Leathams parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Leatham, and Mrs. Leathams parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn S. Nelson. Among those entertaining for the Leathams during their visit were Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Tate, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Allred, Mr. and Mrs. William Bruce, Mrs. George Argus, and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Nelson, all of Tooele, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Peterson of Salt Lake City. Fifty-si- x members of the family of the late Arthur G. Shields attended a reunion in Tooele last Saturday. Outshining even the Kennedys in athletic prowess, they began the day with a golf tournament at the Tooele Golf course. Ping pong, volley ball, and horseshoe tournaments followed, culminating in an afternoon of softball, with stiff competition between the various teams. The days activities ended with a large picnic at the City Park. CHAIRMAN OF THE EVENT was Glen (Sandy) Shields of Pleasant Grove. Those present were Mrs. Arthur L. Shields and the following children and their families: Eldon, Leo, Lloyd, Toby and L. Grant Shields, and Mrs. Nile Taylor, all of Tooele, and Ray Shields of Salt Lake City.
