DUNN, Publisher How to Give Directions in Emergencies Can the doctor, firemen, ambulance driver, or policemen find your house jf an emergency strikes at night? Help can be delayed, sometimes for nearly an hour, if your house cant be quickly and easily located. TO PREPARE for any possible emergency, you need to be able to give directions to your house by phone just as much as you need the household first aid kit or fire extinguisher. Here are tips on how to get help when it is needed: First locate the nearest major street or highway intersections. Plot the quickest, most direct route to your house from this intersection. Lets Be Sure Before We Act Dear Editor: In the sudden push for progress many problems have come before the public here in our little town of Grantsville. While many are concentrating on the growth of the town they are failing to question the tactics used by some in this growth. Others that are more concerned seem to get nowhere in finding out just what is really being done here. I am one who is sintherefore I interested, cerely would like a few answers. IN THE FIRST place I would like to know if the citizens of this town actually know if this progress is personal or public. It seems to me that it is taking on more of a personal nature. Just how much personal gain is being made by a few public minded and supposedly public and this inspirited citizens cludes some of our city officials . Recently we have been informed that our water bill is being raised. To raise the water bill is alright if it is necessary, but why is it necessary. It certainly is not necessary for the few extra houses that we have added to our town. HOWEVER, IT may be necessary for added water mains that need to be added for proposed housing to be added in the future, but dont you think, Mr. Public that we ought to find out who the future owners of these proposed housing additions are? Could it be that one of our top ke , o) onneville's 2)uy of the Week Chief Sixth Army Nurse Visits Dugway The Chief Sixth United of the States Army Nurses Corps, Of- fice of the Sixth Army Surgeon General, arrived at Dugway Proving Ground early Thursday morning, Nov. 29, for an orienof the proving tation tour grounds medical facilities. Lieutenant Colonel Mildred I. Clarke arrived at Dugway after Utah touring Fort Douglas, Army Depot, and Tooele Army Depot. She is currently on a tour of the eight state Sixth Army area, heading an effort for more Army nurses. Upon arriving at the post hospital, Lt. Col. Clarke was greeted by the hospital commanding officer, Colonel Carroll S. Svare and Major Ruth Bustraan, Dugway Chief Nurse. Later in the day the visiting nurse met with Colonel Paul R. Cerar, Dugway Commanding Officer. Stressing the need for more Army nurses while at Dugway, Colonel Clarke pointed out the varied opportunities for nurses 1959 Ford Galaxie 500 c door V8, power steering, radio, heater, padded dash and visors, black and white 4 Grantsville News Friday, November 30, 1962 Cruise-o-mati- TOP SHAPE w!k ONLY OFFICERS OF THE 328th General Hospital, US Army Reserve, are inspected in ranks at Fort Douglas, Utah, on the occasion of the units annual I.G. visit on 30 Oct. 1962. And just why should we have to pay for someone elses profit? We certainly know that there should be enough funds to make the necessary improvements in this town. If there isnt then where are the funds? And how about taking care of our already too small water mains that have-no- t been sufficient to carry the water for quite some time? ANOTHER ITEM that I would like to touch upon is why are we asked to give, not sell, but give to the City, our land for new streets. Why arent some of the already existing streets improved or is there a specific reason why new streets have to be cut in certain areas owned by certain people. I think before vc act too fast we better find out a few answers to some of these questions. And last but not least, I would like to know why the sewer and natural gas, the two things that are so all important to the growth of this town have become an item of desolved interest. A passing subject to touch upon if someone happens to bring the in subject up, but probably reality our most important step towards growth.
