REDDEN learned about farm animals at an early age and under the direction of her father, Ernest Crook of Lake Point, she was showing winning short horn cattle on the western show circuit at the age of 11. She attended schools in Grants-vill- e and Tooele and graduated from Tooele High School in 1944. She entered the U.S. Navy in June of the same year and served in the Medical Corps as surgical technician. JIM REDDEN became her husband while both were in the service.
