On the national levels a spirit of urgency has developed, being born from the feeling that Communism is pushing the world toward a crisis. Through newspapers, radio, TV and other media, the major presidential candidates have placed before the American people in a vigorous manner, what they feel are the issues and their suggested solutions to these issues. The rest lies with the citizens on election day. Utah will elect a Governor and Representative to Congress in this election. Tooele County will choose a state senator, state representative and two County Commissioneres. A District Judge will be elected and state and County school board seats filled. For a complete list of the candidates see the sample ballot in another part of the Tooele Transcript.
