Janet Quinney Lawson became a major donor in the rebuilding of the new $3 million Janet Quinney Lawson Lodge. The new lodge was dedicated during impressive ceremonies held Saturday, Aug. 14, 1999. Before firefighter could make their way to the site, the lodge way burned to the ground. Only the dinner bell survived the blaze. The cause of the fire was never determined. The land for the original camp was donated by Park Consolidated Mines in 1933. Camp Cloud Rim was built in 1936 at a cost of $15,000. It was funded by die WPA through Salt Lake City. They cleared rocks, brush and debris from the trail and groomed the path with wood chips. This is the third year for the Promise Path. It now reaches the half-wa-y point. Each phase of the project is marked with a bench, signed by the participating girls. When completed, the Promise Path will lead visitors along the shoreline around Lake Brimhall.
