Show Have a great Christmas, and Heaven help us all not to overdo it with Kathy's Corner You're nuts to miss Christmas nuts 10 The by Kathy Riggs . . Nuts that are purchased in the shell should be stored in a cool, dry place where they will retain their freshness for many months. Once a container of shelled nuts is opened, it should be tightly resealed and refrigerated. Nuts can also be frozen if they are wrapped well in a moisture and vapor-proo- f material or placed in an airtight container. Once the nuts are shelled, you have several options. You may pop them into your mouth one at a time or you can blanch, roast, toast,, split, chop, or grind them.
