Show Nephi News Mona news Mr. and Mrs. John R. Straub left for their home in LaVerkin on Sunday after spending the week of Thanksgiving with Mr. and Mrs. Wells Ellertson and family. Mr. and Mrs. Percy Newton were hosts at a family dinner at their home on Thanksgiving day. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Y'ern Jensen and family and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Whiting and family, all of Payson; and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Newton and family of Mona. In the evening, Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Jensen and son Jason of Payson called at the Newton home. Following the dinner, films were shown to those attending Asa H. Sperry and dinfamily ner was held at the home of Mrs. Rhoda Newell on Thanksgiving day. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Esty and children of Richland, Washington; Mr. and Mrs. Gary Jackson of Layton; Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Brewer and son Mark of Payson; and Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Bowles and family and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brewer and family, all of Nephi. A spent Thanks- giving day in Kearns with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Oldham. Literary League Mrs. Albert Lofgran of Stafford Arizona, is visiting with Mrs. Floyd Keyte. A history of the settlement of Nephi was given by Mrs. Frank Greenhalgh at the meeting of the Ladies Literary League held November 20 at the home of Mrs. Raymond Pay. Mrs. Greenhalgh read excerpts from the diary of Martha Spencer Hey wood, wife of Joseph L. Heywood who surveyed the Nephi townsite when settlers first came in 1851. Mrs. Greenhalgh also spoke about other interesting events concerning the first settlement of Nephi. In other club business, mem bers discussed the annual club Christmas party. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Raymond Pay and Mrs. Clinton Kirgan. Present at the meeting were Mrs. John E.
