Eo date we havent heard a word from any of our civic moups regarding decorating our main street. (Maybe last uars decorations that are still hanging will do) No one has mu! to start a promotion for home decoration, our stores, unlike those in most town, have had their own openings of a muss opening. These things may be all right, but .ow much nicer and effective it would have been if all ofsjis would mill together and get some of these things done as a Muup. We're sure a few of these little things would knit us more closely as a community, and give us all a better feeling for a job undertaken and done. Many people were, just too d buy to get off the road to cut a tree, so they cut tree s from along the road sides, and in the bottoms of canyons where the naked stumps could be seen by everyone who passed. They didn't stop at that either, some half-wi- t chopped several trees along Main Canyon with eight, or ten inch butts, lust for the six or seven leet of the top that they wanted. We dont know who they were, but if we did, were not too sure that since they had absolutely no regard for the beauty of our canyons, that we wouldnt be inclined to go into their yards and cut the tops out of their own trees. It wouldnt be much worse, except for the fact that we would be trespassirg on verson a I property instead of property that belonged to all of ( I us. There are regulations that state that all trees must be tagbut that regulation is like some others we know, either not important enough to be enforced, or those that are charged with its enforcement dont give a hoot. Getting trees is fun for many of us, but lets be careful where and what we cut this year. Lets protect the beauty of our cannons- not despoil it. ged- Your first payment isnt due until 75 days after purchase. No interest or carrying charge for this period - News Deadline Now that the Times has moved to new quarters, and acquired room to move around, were going to start getting the "vile sheet out on time if it goes to press with two blank pages. We have repeatedly asked for help in getting news in on time, that is one of the things that would aid us greatly, sut to date we seem to still have a dribble right up till press irne. Our not getting the paper out when it is supposed to, is putting us on the rocks- because our advertisers just dont want a Saturday ad that comes out on Monday. We must insist therefore, that all copy, both news and advertising, be in not later than Wednesday noon, or wc ant accept it. This week we know of two or three news rorics for which spate has been requested. It is now 4 p.m. Wednesday and they still are not in, so we will just have to go to press without them. Please give m a little consideration. The mechanics of this thing are such that a story or an ad cant be made up in ten minutes, it sometimes takes hours.
