Instead of $250 gross income it is now necessary to make $1,000 gross income from land to qualify for Greenbelt Letters of explanation and affidavits have been sent to all farmers listed on Greenbelt, which must be signed bv everyone still wishing Greenbelt and returned to the assessor Property will be removed from the Farmland Assessment Act rolls if affidavits are not returned signed and notarized by 1975 Anyone requiring addition information should call the vq ot program of preventative dental care education offered by the Emery County Dental Health Project to all children kindergarten ages to the sixth grade The dental health project has tw'o primary functions, to provide preventative education and free dental care to eligible children Although preventative education is free to all children in age group dental care is provided to children who meet certain financial specifications, which ac- cording to its administrator, Dr Orson Wright are extremely liberal The dental health project is not a new program in Emery County It has been around since November 1971 The concept originated a year before when studies indicated that 87 percent of the children in the effected age group had some focm of dental disease and were needing dental care Spearheaded by Carlos Larsen, Castle Dale the way was opened for Emery County to receive a federal grant of $30,000 from the Division of Maternal Child Health Care This grant is two-thir- matched by $10,000 in county funds The project had two primary goals, to provide dental care for children who otherwise couldnt receive it strictly because of geography and to bring a dentist into the county Dr. Larry Lofthouse came into the county on a private basis, but came in because of the project He maintains a private practice, owns most of his own equipment and rents what equipment he uses assessor at 748 2474 Income tax returns will be checked to verify income reported from farm income This will verify Farmland Assessment elegibility Farmland has been reclassilied and m some cases Green Belt assessments are higher than market value Before applying ior Greenbelt farmers might be wise to check their classification m the assessors office Shane Trapp, age 5, manipulates huge toothbrush as he cleans oversized dentures.
