Kent passed away on Monday, March 11, 2002 at Allen Memorial Hospital, surrounded by loved ones, in Moab. Kent was a longtime resident of Moab As a child, he moved around a lot with his family who was in the uranium industry. He graduated from Telluride High School in Telluride, Colo. After graduation, he joined the Army and served most of his time in Munich, Germany He came out of the Army as a Specialist Spec. 5. Kent married Erma Cheryl Fullmer on Oct. 7, 1961, in Myton, Utah. They had two children, Kent Jr. and Tammy He worked in the uranium industry until 1983 when he was hurt in a mining accident. Later he worked for Southern Paving ( LeGrand Johnson) until 1991. He loved to spend time in his shop fixing things. Kent enjoyed hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed having his children and grandchildren around. He also enjoyed attending sporting events that his children and grandchildren were in. Kent is survived by his wife of 41 years, Erma Cheryl Gordon; a son; Kent (Suzy) Gordon Jr. and a daughter; Tammy (John) Schafer, both of Moab; brothers; Glen (Marcia) Gordon of West Valley City, Jerry Gordon and Bill Gordon, both of Cedar City; sisters; Judie (Gary) Campbell of Cedar City; and Sue (Vem) Shumway of Monticello; grandchildren; Kenny, Brittney, Garrett and Karrina Gordon and John and Drew Schafer, all of Moab. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister; Beverly Golson, and a brother; Keith Gordon. A viewing was held on Thursday, March 12, 2002 at the Moab Memorial Mortuary in Moab.
