Meeting Day Is Changed For Scout Roundtables Decision was reached at the May 14 Duchesne District monthly Scout Committee meeting to change the date of the District Cub, Boy Scout, and Explorer Roundtables from the third' Monday to the first Thursday of each month, states Elvin O. Barker, District chairman. Highlight of the monthly meeting was the introduction of Neill C. Jensen, newly appointed Duchesne District Commissioner, who presented a plan for the complete organization of the Duchesne District Commissioner staff. Names commissioners of neighborhood will be released as soon as the men are contacted. Forthcoming expansion of the Duchesne District Health and Safety Committee was outlined by Dr. John E. Smith, committee chairman. He stated the "new look for the district Health and Safety committee included, providing experiences which help the boys develop sound' health habits and develop safety through skill. He explained he would work to do this in first aid, Explorer mobilization, use of fire arms, and swimming skills instruction for the boys of Duchesne District. Next Duchesne District Court of Honor was announced for June 3 at 3:00 p.m. in the Bridgeland LDS chapel. In attendance at the meeting were: Elvin O. Barker, Neill C. The Roosevelt Roping Club has things just about completed for their annual Rodeo and Horse Show that will be staged at the Roosevelt Rodeo Grounds next Monday, May 28. The Horse Show begins at 12 noon, and the rodeo will be a night affair, beginning at 7 oclock. According to Dick Bastian, president of the Roping Club, trophies will be presented to winners in all horse show events with some of the finest horses in the country entering the competition. In addition to the show, several short horse races are being arranged to be run off during the afternoon. The night rodeo will feature all popular rodeo events such as calf roping, team roping, novelties, bareback and saddle bronc riding. A $25.00 purse is added to each bucking event, plus entrance fees.
