Show t TABIONA Mrs. Thelma Q Married In Temple Miss Marilyn LeFevre, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter LeFevre, became the bride, Friday, of Sharon Nielson, son of Mr. and Mrs. LeVere in The new Bridge-land- , Lake Temple. Nielson was a 1355 the Tabiona High Nielson, of the Salt Mrs. graduate of School, where she was active in all school affairs. She was honored at a bridal shower in Salt Lake City, where she has been employed, and a bridal shower and wedding dance will also be held at Tabiona, with the date to be announced later. Several young people from Tabiona attended the dance Saturday evening at Defas Dance Hall and report an enjoyable time. Weekend guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. . Ted Nye were Curry of Salt Lake City and Ken Heaps of Springville. Alo a guest during the week at the Nye home was Marian Smith, of Los Angeles. Mrs. France Mercer, of Salt Lake City, was a guest at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Maxwell, during the weekend. Miss Sharon Hamilton was a Salt Lake City visitor during the week. Mr. and Mrs. LaVerl Tumbow and family, of Orem, were weekend guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Lazenby. Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Lazenby accompanied Ted Nye to Roosevelt Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Giles and family and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Giles enjoyed a motor trip to the Northwest during the past week. Joe Josie has been reported ill in the Heber Hospital during the past week. We all wish him a quick and complete recovery from his illness Mrs. T. M. Giles, of Salt Lake City, and mother of Mrs. Grace Giles, of Tabiona, has recently submitted to an operation in the LDS Hospital. We all wish her a quick and complete recovery. Mr. and Mrs. Giles are former residents of Hanna and dearly loved by all who knew them. Mr. and Mrs. Aldon Chatwin and baby, of Salt Lake City, were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Woolley and other relatives during the weekend. Many from Tabiona attended the activities at the Duchesne County Fair and all report an ento joyable time. Congratulations those who have worked so hard to make the fair a success. Especially noteworthy this year was the largest livestock exhibit ever in the history of the fair. NEW TEACHERS School begins with several new teacher to welcome at Tabiona and also some new students, a new bus driver, and also a little saddness at the missing of some of the students, teachers, etc., who have moved or received other assignments. We will try to get acquainted with our new principal and have a line-uof school personnel and affairs from the local angle next week. Nye WINS ATTENDANT SPOT Tabiona is glad to note that our own Miss Pleasy Lewis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Lewis, was chosen first attendant to the Queen. This is the first time a Tabiona girl has ever been honored in this way during the fair, and our congratulations go to PLeasy and the effort which she made during the Queen contest. Also to all the other lovely girls, winners and who participated in the contest. It took all of you to make the affair a success. s, Webb Mercer, of New Mexico, is visiting his family in Tabiona this week. His son and daughter, Denise and Richard, attend school at Tabiona, while residing at the home of. their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Maxwell. Mr. Mercer had the misfortune to wreck his car near Richfield while trying to avoid a cow in the road. But the immediate purchase of another new Dodge made it possible for him to continue on with his journey to visit his children and to attend a convention in Chicago. Mr. Mercer is in the refrigeration business in Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. Miss Rozella Carlile was a holiday guest at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Carlile. Norman Casper is visiting at the home of his parents this week. He has served the past four years, in the submarine service of the U. S. Navy. Welcome home, Norman. Allen Giles, of Salt Lake City, was a Tabiona visitor during the weekend. Miss Nancy Young has spent three weeks visiting friends and relatives in Vernal. Miss Malta Young has returned home after spending the summer in California, where she has had employment She visited relatives and did considerable sight-seein- g also. They are the daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Young. Record Number Of Entries Recorded In County Fair In Livestock Division Club News WIN AT FAIR In the Knit, Stitch and Chatter and the Sew and Grow Sewing clubs, Dottie Ann Moon and Rebecca Moon both won blue ribbons on their aprons. Patsy Curry and Elaine Moon both won white ribbons on their dresses. Bonnie Pace won a red ribbon on her cookies. Marilyn Lee won a red ribbon on her blouse and a red ribbon on her fudge. Sharon Giles received a white ribbon for her record book. Barbara Hackett received a red ribbon on her apron, and Sharon Defa was given a red ribbon on her hot pad. Other entries at the Fair from this community who received ribbons were ' LaMay Roberts, winning a blue ribbon on her pillow cases; Nadine Roberts, a blue ribbon on a childs dress, and Mark Michie a blue ribbon on his purse. REDCLIFF CLUB The club members of the Red-cliclub all went to the Fair with their animals. Five of the seven prime lambs shown at the Fair belonged to this club. Larry Wilcken won Grand Champion with one : his fast lambs and was awarded a bridle. He received 45d per pound for his lamb at the Junior Livestock Auction. Ronnie Hacket won Grand Champion on his yearling Suffolk ewe in the breeding sheep class. Ronnie won this ewe lamb last year at the Fair. Jerry Giles won a Grand Champion on his Ramboulet buck. Both Jerry Giles and Gary Pace showed their calves in the Beef division and won high ribbons. Larry Wilcken also won first in Fitting and Showmanship of sheep and will receive a trophy on achievement day. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Moon and baby son have geen visiting at the Nephi Moon home here a few days. They, left Tuesday morning for their trip to Illinois where Mr. Moon plans on continuing his stud ies at the University of Illinois. He also plans on teaching part time. They plan on being at the University about two years. Dasin Postmasters To r.leet In Roosevelt Sept. 17 A record number of entries were exhibited in the Livestock Division at the Duchesne County Fair, Sept. reports Mont Poulson of Duchesne, supervisor for this division. Records for the exhibits, written by Milton Poulson, fair board secretary, showed a total of 129 exhibits were entered at the fair, excluding the poultry. These 129 exhibits included 33 in the dairy division, 16 swine, 36 breed sheep, 21 fat lambs, 9 breed beef cattle, 8 feeder cattle and 6 fat steers. S.O.S. Sounded An S.O.S. is being signaled by the county fair workers for more exhibits next year in the rabbits and poultry division. Only five rabbits and one rooster were exhibited this year at the fair. Grand Champions Grand champions adjudged at the 1955 Duchesne County Fair are listed by Milton Poulson secretary of the fair board. In the dairy division, Lonnie Carlile of Tabiona, entered the cow adjudged Holstein grand A joint TABIONA (Special) meeting of the Uintah and Duchesne County postmasters will be held at the Frontier Grill in Roosevelt on Saturday, Sept. 17, beginning at 2 p.m., according to Mrs. Jessie L Maxwell, Tabiona who is Duchesne postmaster, County director of the Utah Chapter of the National Association of Postmasters.
