Miss Bobbie Williams was one of the students graduating from the Roosevelt, High School, and Miss Eldora Potts, Benny Mitchell and Mickey Iorg were graduates from Altamont High. Several of the parents from this locality attended high school at Altagraduating exercises mont Thursday evening, May 19. Mrs. Myrtle Nelson is home again after spending the past six months in California living with her two daughters. Bishop and Mrs. Gardner Goodrich and daughter, Marilyn, and Mr. and Mrs. Morris Mon-soand two boys, of Mt. .Emmons, spent a few days in Provo visiting relatives. Mrs. Merle Lisonbee entertained at a party in honor of her daughter, Mary Lees, 6th birthday. Guests included Jean Seeley, LaRee Larsen, Blake and Melva Rae Rust, Connie Bird, Rosy and Emma Lou Bird, Morris Goodrich, Carma and Gloria Atwood, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Latturner and Shannon Jensen, of Price, visited Sunday and Monday with Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Seeley. Mr. and Mrs. Arvil Stone, of Lehi, visited here with relatives, Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Orie Cook and Mr. and Mrs. James Cook left Sunday afternoon to do temple work in Salt Lake City. They will visit relatives in Salt Lake and vicinity before returning n Mt. Emmons Sunday. William Durfey has returned to his home in Myton after spending several months at the homes of his sons, Reed and Ray. Mr. and Mrs, Kenneth Carrell and small son were in Myton on business one day last week. Mrs. Adeline Knight and daughter, Connie, were in Roosevelt Saturday. Monday evening, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Case, Mrs. Mary Snyder and Deane and Gayle Case visited in Duchesne with their aunts, Mrs. H. E. Rockill and Mrs. Amelia Bartsch. Mrs. Bartsch, of Oakland, California, is making an extended visit with Utah relatives. The Fish and Game club met at the high school gym last week for the annual election of officers. Leslie N. Pearson, of Boneta, was president; LaFarge Dastrup, vice president, and Ly ard McConkie, secretary-treasureSeven directors were also chosen, one from each of the towns comprising the upper country. By a vote of the members, the name of the organization was changed from the Yellowstone Fish and Game club to the Moon1 Lake Fish and Game club. Mrs. Garth Sargent and small son, of Coalville, spent most of the week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Edgar Holder. Mr. Sargent joined her Thursday to attend the graduation exercises of Miss Betty Holder. Also ou' for the graduation rites were Mrs. G. H. Holder and Mr. ant Mrs. Dee L. Holder and son, ol Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Neil Murray, of Myton, came up to witness the giaduation ,of Mrs. Murrays brother, Ray Rogers. Mrs. Murray remained for a visit at the Rogers home. Carol Elliott spent the past week as a guest of DeVon Atwood. On Friday her brother, Don, came out and they returned to Salt Lake Sunday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Arvil O. Stone, of Lehi were guests Thursday night of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Case. They timed their visit in order to take in the graduation of their niece, Peggy Ann Case. Jean was a member of this years Junior class, member of the student council and assistant editor of the yearbook. She had the honor of being chosen Uintah Basin Sweetheart at the Valentine ball held at Victory Park this year. A benefit dance sponsored by was the high school student-bodheld at the school gypn Friday night. The proceeds were divided between Mickey Iorg, of Upalco, who is in a Salt Lake hospital, and Lula Belle Farnsworth, of Altonah, who has been hospitalized for rheumatic fever, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie J. Orr spent Saturday and Sunday in Salt Lake with their son, Richard, who is being treated for eye injuries at the Veterans hospital. They also visited with their daughter, Colleen, who is working at a drug store in Sugar House. Mrs. Hal Barton was the honored guest aj a pink and blue shower, Saturday evening, at the high school. Hostesses were Mrs. Hyrum Loutcnsock, Mrs. Harold Phillips, Mrs. Robert Taulsen, Mrs. Evan Hansen and Mrs. Albert Hancock. Fred Snyder, who is employed by the Kraft Cheese Co., in' Pocatello, Idaho, is spending his vacation here with his mother, Mrs. Mary Snyder. He brought with him his small nephew, Brent Ames, a son of Erwin and Snyder Ames, of Pocatello. At the Altamont high school graduation exercises, held Thursday evening, scholarships were presented to the following students: A University of Utah scholarship to Rex Fowler, of Altonah: one for the Agricultural College to Lorraine Dastrup, and one for Brigham Young Univer sitv to Peggy Ann Case. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Hansen and daughter, Ruth, of Salt Lake City, came out Saturday for a visit at the homes of Waldo and Grant Hansen. Ruth returned Sunday afternoon, leaving her parents for a longer stay with their sons and their families. Miss Deane Case had a few friends in Sunday evening to honor the high school teachers who are leaving Mt. Emmons r. brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. M. G. Williams. Mr. and Mrs, Glendon Han-bur- g and small son were visiting Sunday at the home of Mrs. Hanburgs parents, Mr. and Mrs, Sam Williams. Claude Iorg came in from the sheep herd and spent the week end with his family. Mr. and Mrs. William Taylor and two small sons left last week for Arkansas to visit the formers mother and sister. A large number of people from Hanna attended the high school graduation exercises at Tabiona Friday night, May 20. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lee motored to Salt Lake City one day last week where Mrs. Lee consulted her physician., Mr. Bud Winslow, of Duchesne, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Womick were visiting with the latters parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Pace over the week end. On Sunday they took Mr. and Mrs. Pace and daughters, Iola and Melba, to spend the day with them at their home in Roosevelt. ' Mr. and Mrs. Earl Sweat are the proud parents of a baby boy, born at the Heber hospital May 10th. Both mother and baby are doing satisfactorily. Mrs. Ervin Sweat spent Sunday with Mr. Sweat at his sheep camp. Miss Jennie Lee Mecham Is visiting with relatives in Walls-bur- g for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. G. H. McNeill took their son, Boyd, to Spring-vill- e for medical attention last week. They went by way of Price where they visited with friends.
