Association Users Water Strawberry constructed a dam at tbo spring making a reservoir from which they hope to draw water for tho purpoee of equalising tho flow of tho etresm during tbo winter for power this action baa been formally protected by tho canal companies. It was tha attitude of the canal companies, according to reporta, that to thla water they had no objection In the winter, being used for storage but In the summer they protested, on the grounds that they did not want the stream to fluctuate during the Irrigating season. The city oftlciale took the position that when the city was ready to use the water forculunary purposes they wanted It at no additional cost.. I. e. not they felt that the, city should now have to pay for Improvements being made at the spring. The Strawberry Water nsera agreed that at no time would they prevent Spanish Fork from using this water for city purpose. It waa claimed for the canal companies that whatever disposition is made, nothing should Interfere .with their prior river rights. Representatives from the two mill companies using water from the river asked that nothing be done to hamper tbelr rlghta or to limit their use of water. The meeting was rather Informal, no minutes were kept, but the attitude of each group was plainly and fairly stated. The Canal Companies are to bold a meeting Thursday night to determine just the course they will pursue. offl-clo- Ao-elatio- Hare's tbo Unit letter to Sent. ood one? Spanish Fork, Dec. 3.
