Cted. dote. Friday with Mrs. George Alnge. The question ot the route of the state highway is uppermost In the a 0(l ur PPle present, and a number ot our citizens spent Friday last in Salt Lake City keeping tabs on the members of the Legislature to see what they would do in ragard to it. Two routes were proposed. One to lead straight west of Dahlea store and one up Main street and on to Salem on the present State highway. The people who were pulling for the Lake Shore route found early in the game that there was no chance to get the road there, so they offered a compromise route, coming up Main street as far as the Second ward meeting house and then going west through Leland and Benjamin. The matter Is now in the hands of the Senate road committee and action will probably be taken on it during ,the coming week. The route that is selected will be graded and hard surfaced, probably with cement, during the coming summer, the bill carrying with it an appropriation of $3,000,000 for hard surfaced roads, with the Federal Government agreeing to duplicate the . sum. i?"dof nty-on- yester-afterno- on i To the Citirens of the Twelfth Federal Deserve District: The Fifth Liberty Victory Loan is in sight.
