Although . the w, and Notary-Public- . a communication from Congressman Walter P. Brownlaw of Tennessee enclosing a copy of the Brownlaw Bill now pending in Congress, the object of which is promotion of good wagon The roads in the United States. bill seeks to have Congress appromillions of dolpriate twenty-fou- r lars to assist the several states in construction of good wagon roads. Under its provisions every state in the' union will recieve at least a quarter of4a million dollars, conditioned upon their spending an equal amount out of their own revenues so that the least that would be spent in any state on its wagon roads would be a half million dollars. The expenditure of a half million dollars on the wagon roads in our state would undoubtedly result in several times that amount of good to the agriculturists of thestate and a measure such as this bill contemplates should recieve the hearty support of all the, farming and traveling fraternity. Of course the people who reside in the large cities will not realize the need of good wagon roads as we do, but even in their case good roads would be a benefit as they would cheapen agricultural products. In a pamphlet which ac . ompanied, or which embodied, the copy of th law, that sue - ha.ve . there is a fund of information in relation to the subject, and among other thing it is said that the government has a much, larger in cnrne than it requires to meet its expenses. If this is the case it could certainly afford to spend some of this surplus revenue in giving to the country better roads. Undertaker, . GOOD Main Requisites. COOL BATH EVERY - ST.
