Hill military and civilian personnel and their families are invited to join the Family Support Center durd ing holiday walking tours of Salt Lake City scheduled for Wednesday and Dec. 9. The November tour is scheduled for the morning and early afternoon. The bus leaves the Family Support Center, Bldg. 308N, at 9 a.m. and drops participants off north of the citys Temple Square. Tour goers depart Salt Lake at 2 p.m. The Dec. 9 tour departs at 1 p.m. and remains in Salt Lake until 7 p.m., allowing participants to view the holiday lights and evening festivities. Many of the sights within walking distance offer free admission and tours. self-guide- Highlights include: Historic Temple Squares temple is a in downtown Salt Lake City. Also located centerpiece on the square is the domed Tabernacle. Free tours are given daily in 30 languages. The grounds will be decorated with over 750,000 lights. six-spire- d The Conference Center includes a 7,667-pip- e organ and seating for 21,000 people. The acoustically designed auditorium allows all audience members to clearly hear whats said at the podium. Communication facilities can simultaneously translate up to 60 languages. Landscaping atop the Conference Center roof includes 1,400 trees and a waterfall that cascades 67 feet down the front of the building. The Salt Lake City Art Center is filled with contemporary visual art exhibits and films. Expires tains art and history exhibits about the Mormon pioneer and settlers experiences during the 19th and 20th centuries. Admission is free. Free tours are pro- vided daily. Hansen Planetarium has daily star shows, laser shows accompanied by music, brains-o- n exhibits and a unique planetarium store. ALL FABRICS L -- LlltUr Social Hall Heritage Museum features the remnants of Utahs first public building, which was noted as the first theatre west of the Mississippi River. Tours are available. ZCMI Center Mall and Crossroads Plaza Mall include several department and specialty stores decorated for the holidays.
