Bidding for the silent auction items will begin promptly at 5:30 p.m. and close at 6:30 p.m. A short intermission will follow the silent auction. During this intermission, there will be several contests and a $100 Cash Prize give away. Cash prizes will be awarded to each contest winner. The individual must be present to collect the prize. The verbal auction begins 7 p.m. Auction items typically include handmade crafts, gift baskets that include vacation or family fun items and a basketball packages, signed by Utah Jazz star Karl Malone. Another $100 cash prize giveaway will follow the auction. To participate in the auction, guests must purchase an auction stick for $5. These sticks will be sold in the foyer the night of the auction. Donation tickets will be available both prior to the auction and the night of the auction. The auction is an adults only function and children older than 6 months wont be admitted. For more information, call by Carol Roeder 388th FW Officers Spouses Club On Nov. 3, the 388th Fighter Wing officers spouses will host the annual Barnyard Auction at the Hill AFB Officers Club. The auction is an annual fundraiser that helps the 388 FW spouses finance the many chari- table activities they do for the Wing. These events include creating welcome baskets for new 388 FW members, funding childrens Halloween and Christmas parties, contributing to many local charities, Angel Tree and helping our local Air Force community. This years event is based on the Barnyard Auction theme, and will include both silent and verbal auctions and a buffet dinner. The buffet will be open from p.m. and the cost e is $9, payable by cash or check, for a trip through the line. The menu includes bar5-- Training for organization recycling monitors will be held Tuesday at 8 a.m. in the Officers Club Heritage Room. In order to help promote and conduct a viable recycling program, the Hill AFB Solid Waste Management Plan directs that recycling monitors be assigned in each building or organization, said Alyric Ray, Resource Recovery and Recycling Program manager. These monitors not only promote recycling but oversee that it is done as conveniently and efficiently as possible in their organizations. Monitor duties include promoting recycling; establishing collection points for recyclable paper and cardboard; and arranging for item pickup with the Recycle Center, Bldg. 805. Technicians at the Recycle Center will sort and process materials for shipment to recycling mills. All government agencies are required by Executive Order 13101 to employ recyclingin their operations, Ray said. This is a chance to help yourself, your children, grandchildren and those who follow, and make sure they have a clean environment.
