Brum- new process to make changes to their Federal Savings Plan Employees Health Benefits, Thrift and Federal Employees Group Life Insurance when those functions transfer to the Air Force Personnel Centers PALACE Compass program. PALACE Compass Benefits and Entitlements Service Team (BEST) representatives will travel to Hill and brief employees on the limited benefits and entitlements services BEST will provide and how it involves them. Briefings will be Aug. and 7 with locations and times to be announced. The representative will explain how TSP, FEHB and FEGLI services will be delivered under PALACE Compass and provide information on the operation of the benefits services delivery system and its use. A video explaining the change is also being developed and will be used to reach employees unable to attend the briefings. Under BEST, employees are served by an Air automated system designed Force as possible in manto make them as howaging their benefits and entitlements. It does, ever, require individuals to become more attentive to deliver serto their benefit counselor-expertvices to the employee. The new system replaces the old way of doing personnel business, where the employee often made more than one trip to the civilian personnel office to conduct a single transaction. number or access Now, employees dial a toll-fre- e Personnel Civilian the Air Force Personnel Centers Operations web site to receive benefits and entitlements information and make transactions at their own convenience, whether its from the office or their home. Completed transactions are verified on the employees Leave and Earning State- - , ment: k" ' 'j For example, if an employee has a question about numlife insurance, they simply call the toll-fre- e ber and input their social security number and select a Personal Identification Number to access the system. The employee chooses life insurance from the menu prompts and the system retrieves their personal life insurance information and relays it, as well as general life insurance information to the employee. Or, the employee can access the web site, input their social security number, Personal Identification Number and select the appropriate mferiu area for the desired information. If the information is insufficient, the employee can speak to a counselor when using the automated phone system. When the counselor answers the call, they have the necessary information to specifically respond to the employees personal questions. Its important to understand this integration into PALACE Compass only involves limited benefits servicing. The Civilian Personnel Office will continue to provide all other aspects of civilian servicing, to include retirement, survivorship, e and as well as customer support. d Employees can access the phone or system after Aug. 14 by calling 9-1- ' - Amy - - '7-- Tr L: A A v - ? - f, i :y yP ji:Uf , k iA i!
