How it helped production: Roger Duran, shop foreman, said even when the calibrations took place and procedures were put in place after several hours of overtime, personnel were asked repeatedly to go above and beyond their workscope. 'To this point we haven't had any of our canopies A-1- on-lin- rejected," said Duran. (The team has been working on the canopies for 6 months.) "That's because of the dedication of the people that I have working in there: They've just gone after the workload even though none of them had ever done that type of work before. The fact we had no rejections had got us on Cloud Nine. There's nothing more inspiring to a shop. It shows me the quality of mechanics out there and the dedication to maintain the Air Force and Department of Defense at it's highest quality is there and that we're always prepared to take on challenges." r ; Duran said the 0 is an aging aircraft and fatigue over the years is beginning to show, making it; more necessary than ever for shops to maintain high levels of professionalism and expertise. What was involved: Several hours of overtime were necessary to get the production lip and running. Duran said personnel made personal time sac-- . A-1- . rifices to complete the transition on time and the award recognizes that extra effort. "Every time we receive an award like that we know that we're being recognized not only in our immediate shop, but throughout the division and throughput Hill," he said. There's still a lot of work being transitioned. Duran said he wants to let the public know his growing organization is open for business and employment and it's their goal to make Hill recognized as not only the top organization in the Air Force, but also the Department of Defense. "We'll meet any challenges given to us 110 percent," he said. "It's been an exciting challenge. There's still work we've got to do to improve and enhance the shop. It's always something we keep on our minds. I'm glad to have the dedication from the people work-in- g here." ;: 547-969- 3 LOG, COUNTRY & SHAKER FURNITURE MADE TO LAST LIFETIMES Wall to Wall Total Stock ( muiors -- BEDROOMS GROUPS BUNKBEDS OFFICE MATTRESSES MORE J i u sS&!')l r ''J ii ii a Lb ; B o J57 it o o I o 1 ' J'' .i , Best rates available ji- ? v !v 1 uui S) 3, S2i Murfield at Glen Eagle LEGACY SERIES - ; .
