Ford Hilltop Times staff Revenge was sweet Saturday, as the Hill AFB Falcons youth football team expunged three years of frustration in a 21-ofKaysville. "All I heard was we 7 beating get spanked every year," said Falcons' rookie offensive coordinatorJames Purtell, "and this team beat us last year 41-This win was amazing. We dominated from the get-gThe momentum was clearly with us." No Falcon team in the last three years has managed to win even a single game, and last year's team scored just two touchdowns for the entire season. But this year doesn't seem to be shaping into a repeat. The Falcons used a two back set during the first half to riddle the Kaysville defense with running backs Andrew Wilson and 0. o. John Benson, both players combining for 125 yards rushing for the game. Wilson scored twice on runs of 20 and 15 yards, both sweeps off the left end, capping drives of 45 and 55 yards. Benson scored a conversion on a sweep around the right side. Purtell threw in a mixture of sweeps and slants to help the speedsters keep the Kaysville defense off balance. one-poi- nt 91 A litem SPORTS BRIEFS The Falcons' defense, led by safety Joshua Wenner, pounded into the Kaysville back-fiel- d and limited their offensive options. As a result, the Falcons took a 13-- lead into half time. Kaysville came back to score in the second half, chopping the Falcons' lead to just six at 13-The Falcons needed a spark. r Enter quarterback Mike Purtell, who had been roaming in the pocket, practically untouched due to his massive and talented offensive line. The Falcons opened up the passing game, and Purtell, who finished the day with 65 yards passing on aired out a 40 yard TD to wideout John Wenner. The ensuing conversion pushed the lead to 21-- 7 late in the third quarter. From there, the defense took over.
