But historians only concern themselves with the impact of his short life span and its effects it had, they fail to realize the impact of his death not only on that generation of people then but more so now, this generation, where we see world condition fulfilling Bible prophecy which J esus foretold, Matthew Chapter 24. How can it be said that any part of Jesus life or death could affect us today more than 19 centuries later? In the Bible Jesus is referred to as the Chief Agent of Life, Acts 5:31. What does this mean? This means that his death was a ransom sacrifice to erase all sins committed by all people and provide them with a mediator in which to turn for relief of all sins, Matthew 20:28; 1 Timothy 2:5,6. Whether we accept Jesus Christ as our ransom or we deny him as our ransom, does not change the facts that he lived and died, and was resurrected and left witnesses to prove it because they had seen. We have both Bible history and secular history to prove these events. So for those who accept his ransom, Nisan 14 (this year April 11) has special meaning for them. Some denomination in Christendom celebrate Christs death daily, others weekly, others quarterly. But it is not usual to memorialize great and meaningful events annually. This was so with the passover and marked the deliverance of the Israelites from Egyptian bondage. It was celebrated once each year on the anniversary of the Biblical month Nisan. And it was on Nisan 14 33 C.E., that Jesus he dying later on that very instituted the memorial of his heath, (1 Cor. 11:20-26- ) day! It is therefore logical and fitting that his death be memorialized once each year and on that date. This year, Nisan 14 falls on Wednesday, April 11 after sundown. Why after sundown? Because in ancient Bible times the day ran from sundown to sundown. Texasgulf Mocb Potash Operations Nisan 14 is also referred to as the Lords Evening Meal and it serves as an occasion for for all those attending. Jehovahs Witnesses would like to welcome all to come to the Kingdom Hall after sundown on Wednesday, April 11, 1979 and join in observing the memorial of Christs death.
