Last evening, between G and 7 o'clock, two young men got into a quarrel in MoCarty & Minter's sa loon, on the east side of Main Street. Although being several times ad monished by Mr. McCarty to behave themselves and come to peace, they persisted in their bellicose dispositions until they got down on the floor, clinched in bitter combat. The affair turned out to assume a grave aspect when it was ascertained that one of the conlDatants,Geo. Nicholas had bitten off the left ear of his antagonist, David Thomas. The latter young athlete was taken to Wade's drugstore, for the inspection of Dr. John Driver who declared it impos? sible to replace the detached auricular appendage. The other juven ile warrior was attended to by the police and this foreneon he was granted an audience before His Honor Justice Middleton, who thought it prudent to place him under $;100 bonds to await the action oi the Grand Jury. The The Delayed Trains. in the U tab Jt Northern break The Railroad was of a pretty serious character. It was not, as had been res ported, a washout. About Ross' Fork there was a good deal of the grade on which there had never been any water, and it had never got packed and settled. Owing to the heavy snows and thaws, about 600 feet of this grade settled and bulged out, which rendered the passage of trains unsafe. The evil was remedied as speedily as possible, but not until the train due at Ogden on Monday morning, at 9 o'clock, had been delayed over 24 hours. The first of the delayed trains got in yesterday morning, over an hour late. S. L, Utrali. Bry Goods, Notions, White Goods, KOOTS, SHOES, CLOTHING, OUT SALE. AT - AND MARKS, GOLDSMITH & CO.
