RKPORTS The Parricide, A few cfayi ago a special dispatch was published in tho Iltratd which told of the killing of a father by bis son, but the particulars w re tvH -en. From a private letter tire frrflow-in- g details are gleand : The tragedy took place near Marshall's rarchef on the Sevier river. The man'n nam was Pickering, and for some trivial son cause he whipped hie most unmercifully. He also told him that if he (the boy) allowed the sheep to get into the meadow he would cut him into inch pieces. The boy is said to have told his parent that he would never see him after that night. The following morning one of the boys went out with the sheep ai.d another with the calves. Sidney, the old boy ' who had been beaten, remained at home. He took a pistol, rested it on a chair and fired, the ball entering his father's breast, near the right nipple, and ranged up. The father was instantly killed, and it is supposed the boy went out and milked the cows as usual and then went and told the neighbors that his father had been killed by a man. He told several stories, which conflicted with eacliother, and finally confessed the murder to having committed himself. The boy, it i said, neither shed a tear nor Bhowed the least remorse nor regret when taken into the presence of his dead father, nor did he exhibit any when talked to about it. The examination of the boy was going on when the letter was written, with what result, however, is not yet known. The Beaver Chronicl says tho lad "narrowly escaped lynching at the hands of the exasperated citizens, when he confessed and was arretted," Herald, OF COMMITTERS. Xotea frem Salt Lake Paper. Mr. B. Y. Hampton yesterday bur ied his fourth child within two weeks. This is also the result of that dread ful disease, diolnheria. He has the sympathy of the community in his further sad loss. Alley Barker has been forced to retire from his position as pitcher for the Athletics, because that club has no man capable of catching his balls .Hence they lost the last game played with the Oakland cf California. A day or two ago, a young man at Coalville accidentally shot himself. He was out hunting with a compan ion, and was in the act of picking up his gun, when the weapon was discharged, the ball shattering his left arm, about where the muscle is located. Dr. Den Benedict attended the young man and brought him to this city. He is now at the Sisters' Hospital. Idyll. The Courier Journal boasts of having received this: "The birds is singing on the bough, The bell is ringing on the cow; But sorrow fills my weary breast, What is the matter may be guessed I love Matilda."
