Pieces. of The Louisville l Friday thus describes a remarkable accident : Shortly after daylight yesterday morning, as a workman, living near the Short Line junction, about three miles from the city, was going to his work he discovered pieces of a man's body, which had evidently been run over and killed, lying around the the Nashville ' railroad track informed lie living parties junction. in the vicinity of wh"t he had seer. Word was" sent to Dick Moore, the coroner; who, as soon as possible, went out to the scene of death and mnde an investigation of the fatal ac cident. It was discovered that on Wedncs day evening, shortly after dark a man came into the saloon at the junction and obtained three drinks. He informed the bar keeper that he e was years of age, but did His actions were his name. not give rather 6trange. , It was further ascertained from hi3 conversation around the junction de pot that he had been to Utica, Ind., to gH setns. money,, but. hud iailul, and was on his way to his home, in, the neighborhood of the junction. He had no meney, and the of the saloon was compelled to credit him, upon his promise that he would go home and bring back the money with which to pay for the drinks. This was all that could be discovered concerning the mau. The drinks, with others he had probably previously taken, must have muddled his biaiu so much that he know'not what he was doing, and in endeavoring to get to his home he must have fallen down on the railroad track. About 7:50 p.m.' a freight train on the L. and N. road came thunde.-in- g along, and, alas for the poor man, ran over him without t he engineer or any of the men on in knowing what had occurred. During the night a passenger and another , freight train of the same road passed over his already mangled body, and cut him into numerous pieces, so that if he had any family they will be unable to recognize him. The coroner Could find nothing except a scrap of paper ia the pockets of the clothing which they gathered, and which indicated nothing that would fix the identity of the fearfully mutilated body He, however, succeeded in picking up pieces, into which number the body bad been severed by the passing trains, and nearly all of which were frozen."
