It is nat question of difference in religion. It is a question of peace or disorder; honesty in public affairs or corruption and jobbery; whether we shall have honorable, tried and respected men in office or unscrupulous adventurers and their allies.5 "We invite the respectable portion of the "Genti'e" citizens of Utah, ladies and gentlemen, to vote the Btraisht People's Ticket, and know that they will thereby gain the good-wiof all who are worthy of their notice as well as the approval of their own good judgment. first-clas- For Weber Countj: Rtfraentativet .U the depot A Runaway. fine cf a tbU gray horses span morning, unobstructed. They sustain most vof the trade. . They are almost the only producers. They have the bal ance of power. They intend to keep it). The Gcutiles" arc, most of then, now comers. They draw their sustenance from the old Bettlcrs. Very few of them produce anything. They have come here to make money, building on the foundation the "Mor-- mons" have laid. Many of them have beon successful in business. They have made money out of the "Mor mons." This was their right and in its exercrse they have not been re stricted. -- They have been protected in thoir position; they have practised thoir various religions unmolested. Thetr miulbtrshuve beca treated with respect when they have respected the rights of others, and have never been misused even when abusing the "Mor woua." This is true also of the few "Geo tiles" who made their home in Utah before the advent of the rail road and the influx of recent "Gen. tile'' population. What Cumplaiuts have the "Gen. tiles" to make against the. "Mor mons"? None, literally none, that they can sustain by facts or reason But the "Gentiles" to be understood must be dividod into two classes, The first are gentlemen and ladies why have come here because business or pleasure or interest has called them. They had just as much right to tome and have just as much right tot;ay as any "Mormon" who has lived here siuce '47.- They mind their own business. They are respectable, peaceable citizens. That is,, it is a mistake with some, a whole cloth fabrication with others. We state without fear of successful contradiction, that all persons in Weber county are as free to vote fur whom they please, or not to vote at all, as any community in any part of the Union. And' we defy our traduccrs to produce a single individual who can truthfully declare that he has been compelled to vote or not to vote, un der dictation. We affirm that the "liberals" at a single elec tion use a thousand-folmore cajoand moral actual inlery, pressure timidation among those whom they think they can influence, to say nothing of the cadging and money sqeez-inthey resort to, than as ever been .1 j.mr usea among the "iuornions since the settlement of the Territory. We advise'our friends to vote the "Peo ple'a Ticket," as we have a right to do, and beyond this we know of no influence brought to bear upon the people by any person in all the years we have lived in Utah. We fling the falsehood back into their teeth. Henceforth a flagrant falsehood should be called a "liberalism." is insinuated d g 1 , A DXSiGUJSTlXfi KXIIIIU-TIO.- V.
