About midnight he wag awakened by a noise, and saw a . man dart out of his room with the speed of lightning. He arose, and upon examining his garments, discovered that his money and watch were stolen. He at once gave the alarm, and Mr. Landt appeared, to enquire the cause of the disturbance. Upen hearing the statement of his guest, he came up town and lodged his complaint with Capt. Owen, and intimated his suspicions as to the parties who commuted the theft. The Captain then arrested a man named C. Monroe, on whose person was found a watch that was identified as the one that was stolen. The money was not recovered, but as others were concerned in the theft, and are suspected, there is a remote chance of its being found.
