A SEXSIIILE; SUGGESTION We call attention to the nansible suggestion of Mr. J, J. Mahon contained in his letter which will be found in another column. There is a large number of respectable persons residing in Utah who differ in. their religious belief from the masses of our citizens, at the same time they have no desire to stir up strife nor infringe upon our rights. They know as well as we. do that the disreputable crowd who Beck for Congressional interference with onr local affairs have no object in view but personal greed, and the gratification ef malicious spite. They know that the obstacles in the way of the higher courts of the Territory are of the judges' own making. They know that under the laws of the Territory as administered by the lesser courts, justice and equity have been' dealt out to all, entirely irrespective of creed er sectional feeling. They know that the Mormon people have been belied by Federal officials and their puloua hirelings, and that the situation of affairs here is not understood by the head of the Government. Under these considerations it would be an act becoming in them and an honor and credit to their patriotism and love of fair play to ex: press their sentiments in a mannor that would be heard and noticed by the Government, as an antidote to the and Tenom of the howlers for special legislation. Our columns are open to gentlemen, who while differing from us in faith have feolings in common with us and with all true American citizens in favor of civil and religious liberty, and the rights guaranteed to Utah under the Organic; Act and the Constitution o: trouble-breede- rs our country. Editor $jden Junction: EXTENSION Dear Sir: For some time past our sidewalks of an evening have been over run by a number of boys or lads, who indulge in all kinds of rowdyism and indecent language. Tbey throw gravel &o. at the windows and creep stealthily into stores and Bteal candies, fruits, books and whatever tbey can lay their hands upon. Three of our floors have been entered during the past week, and goods stolen therefrom, by theso urchins. Can not the police and city authorities protect us from these outrages. We are of the opinion that all public paid servants instead of smiling at such conduct should use their authority to suppress it, if parents will not look after their boys, and administer the correction they need, it will be an act of charity, for the law to step in and inflict a penalty that would restrain them from pursuing a course of conduct which if allowed to go on unohecked, will undoubtedly result in their final ruin.
